The Pioneers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and that was all Lynch needed to keep Hartford at bay through five innings.
However, the Hawks would rally for runs in the sixth and eighth to steal a 4-3 victory.

Aside from the two losses to Hartford, the Pioneers were alson dealt another blow when the learned that seniors Frank Bainer and Jeff Hanson would be lost for the season due to elbow injuries.
Bainer will undergo Tommy John surgery but will be able to come back.
