Imagine your adrenaline pumping as you hear the screams of thousands of fans waiting for you to take the stage. Now pretend those fans are the men and women risking their lives everyday overseas as part of our armed forces.

The men and women of our armed forces put their lives on the line for our country everyday.

Since the start of the war in Iraq, entertainers have flown to the Middle East to entertain the troops and show them how their service is appreciated. Among those recent entertainers was Jessica Simpson.

"I am heading to Kuwait to do a show for the troops for Operation MySpace, then back in the studio," said Simpson on her sweetkisses.net Web site. Her trip to Kuwait, a country between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, will be sponsored by the organization Operation MySpace.

"I think its great that Jessica Simpson is showing her support by singing for the troops in Kuwait. If her performing brings a little joy to their lives while overseas then I think what she's doing is for a great cause," said senior Liz Onorato

The show will took place on Mar. 10 and was broadcast live on myspace.com. Other appearances included the Pussycat Dolls, Disturbed, DJ Z-Trip, Filter, Metal Sanaz and was hosted by comedian Carlos Mencia.

"It's truly an honor to perform for the troops," said Simpson according to USmagainze.com. "Through Operation MySpace, I get to serve my country by doing what I love to do in front of thousands of brave men and women in uniform. It's every girl's dream!"

This isn't the first time that Simpson has flown to the Middle East to perform. According to the Web site eonline.com, she and then-husband Nick Lachey visited Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where they spent several days as part of a USO-hosted tour in 2005.

Other entertainers on that tour included some of the World Wresting Entertainment wrestlers, Kid Rock, Joan Jett, Wayne Newton and Drew Carey.

"For years troops stationed all over the world have utilized MySpace as a lifeline to communicate with their loved ones back home," said MySpace's co-founder, Tom Anderson. "Many of them have been generous enough to share their unique experiences with me through messages on myspace.com. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to thank them in person and bring along the entire MySpace community."

The Iraq War is not the first war to have performers come and entertain the troops. Triple threat Bob Hope used to entertain the troops during World War II.

Hope was known as a triple threat because of his talents in the radio, television and movie industries. He flew all over the world to entertain men and women of the armed forces with his comedic acts.

This show was projected to be the biggest live event that myspace.com has sponsored. There was a countdown to when the show started and an option on their homepage to write messages to the men and women stationed in Kuwait that will be shown on the screen during the show.

An abbreviated version of the concert is set to air on Apr. 12 on the cable network FX.
