Yes, it is that time again. Spring break is here and college kids are gearing up for another year of partying or just simple relaxation.
Regardless of what you are doing, one thing is for sure, you aren't going to class. But how are students going to spend their time off from school this year?
"I'm going to Pampano Beach, Florida with my buddy Chris and some kids," said junior Carl Dzienkiewicz, "I'm really just psyched to get out of Connecticut for a while and take a break from all the stress of school and work."
"I'm spending my spring break in Palm Beach, Florida. I'm going to get applications for jobs, tan, and swim. Basically I'll be tanning and studying for my midterms," said freshman Elizabeth Enoksen, "I'm going alone, but I'll meet up with my friends who live down there."
This year, many students are staying on the east coast and going to Fla. Although it seems for some, going to Fla. may be more of the economic compromise for spring breakers to enjoy the warm beaches, that is, if you want to call going to Fla. a 'compromise.'
"I'm going down to Clearwater, Florida to visit some family," said junior Jackie Zambrella. "I just want to get out of the cold, but I'm waiting to blow all my money on my senior spring break trip."
"I'm taking a little road trip with some of my buddies to Naples, Florida," said junior Mike Morin. "I think it would be impractical for us to go any further than Florida considering we are driving, and if our car breaks down along the way, some where south of the border, at least we should be close to a beach."
The students who are not going to Fla. are stepping it up a notch and going big. Kids are taking full advantage of the time they have, and spending their vacation out of the country.
"I'm going to Rome with some of my roommates to visit our friend Cara who is studying abroad there through Sacred Heart," said junior Candice Wilkes. "I can't wait to experience Rome and be able to put my mind at ease for a while."
