Do you have tons of great pictures on your computer?
Have you lost pictures becasue of a virus and you just never got around to printing them out?
Is there that one photo that you have been wanting to frame since freshman year?
If this rings a bell, than the university has made your life a whole lot easier with the new Sony Picture Station in the Mail and Duplicating Center on campus.
This new machine allows students to print and edit digital photos with the use of a memory card or a flash drive.
"It is going to be extremely beneficial to the students. Commonly students only keep their pictures on the computer and do not get to have the actual picture in hand. The picture station allows the students to print their pictures so that they can frame them or hang them in their rooms," said junior Patrick Marron.
To print pictures the school does pose a fee for students but have made payment methods easy. Students can use their general account money on their student ID's to pay for the services of the Sony Picture Station.
"I think it's a amazing idea, it's very convenient, especially for those students who don't have their car on campus," said sophomore Julia Mancuso.
"I wish the school had done this when I was a freshman I wouldn't have had to take the shuttle for two hours just to do a simple errand."
Marron, a work-study employee in the mailroom, has taken notice to the student's reaction.
"Students have been excited to start using the new machine," said Marron.
One of the biggest benefits that Marron pointed out is that with this new technology it will save all students a trip to CVS or Wal-Mart. This will especially be an advantage for students that do not have access to a car.
"It's great that the university took it upon themselves to add in this technology that students will obviously really put into use. It is probably going to be a mad house down in the mail center in a couple of weeks," said junior Rich Baron.
Digital photography has become extremely popular in recent years, making it possible to choose the style of the picture you want and be more selective of the pictures you want to print.
"I use it all the time to print out pictures from my camera off campus and this saves me the trip out. It is definitely something I will be using soon," said sophomore Emily Futoma.
The school encourages students to come check it out and give it a try. For those students interested in using this latest technology The Sony Picture Station is available from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
