As every Sacred Heart student hears when coming through orientation, Dr. Cernera says to do three things while here: work hard, enjoy yourself, and fall in love. I can safely say that the majority of Sacred Heart students work hard, definitely have fun, and surprisingly find love among our small campus. But can that love last forever?

I don't want to sound like a pessimist here, but transitioning from college to the real world with a significant other can be a lot of work. But it can also be very rewarding to have someone help you through it.

A whole bunch of factors come into play in regards to this topic the main one being distance. Some couples from here have one party in New Hampshire and another in New Jersey, for example. When college is over and done with, it all comes down to making sacrifices for the other person.

Distance is hard enough on couples during the summer months, after college it will be just as hard, if not harder. But another factor that plays into love after college is jobs. Some students will have jobs back home; some will have jobs in China. It's as simple as that. If you are a bleeding heart romantic and love is more important that financial stability, then you have nothing to worry about, but don't count on too many of these people to be lying around.

Many people have met in college and stayed together. If they can make it work than so can you. I'm just saying it will be difficult. And if you haven't found love at Sacred Heart yet, maybe you're the lucky ones. But you seniors still have a few more months left. See what unfolds. Take a chance. It might be nice to walk down a new path. So out there and find somebody to love.
