People often commonly describe themselves as fun, hardworking and outgoing. For junior Andrew Marvin, his description is a little more creative.
"I would describe myself as an eclectic, music-loving, and humorous pseudo-intellectual plagued by occasional bouts of stoicism and a wonderful penchant for sarcasm," said Marvin.
Marvin is part of the Student Union and is a second year manager and has a work ethic about himself that his staff really enjoys.
"Andrew is a dedicated and hardworking employee who is a true pleasure to work with in the office. One of Andrew's best qualities is that he never hesitates to lend a helping hand," said Supervisor Beth Coyne.
While working in the Student Union, Marvin's dedication and caring work ethic do not go unnoticed.
"He has won employee of the year because of his willingness to help out the Sacred Heart community and takes his job very seriously along with being very knowledgeable about things that go on around campus," said junior Bryann Lombard.
Marvin takes the time to be involved at Sacred Heart and still has the time to make his friends laugh.
"My favorite activity at Sacred Heart would have to be participating in FLIK's Buffalo Chicken Salad Wednesdays. I also love making my friends laugh," said Marvin.
While in college, students can feel pressured to change who they really are, while others have the strength to continue with what they really put their minds to. For Marvin, he can achieve almost anything he aims for.
"My favorite thing about Andrew is that he is always himself, he is proud of the choices he makes for himself and I really admire him, he doesn't let anyone make him feel like he should do things differently because he lives his life the way he wants to," said senior Kelly Linskey.
"I like maintaining control over my mind because I think that's the one thing you can control in the world, and I do not want to give that up," said Marvin.
