S.E.T to host holiday happenings

Come one, come all. Get in the holiday spirit with Sacred Heart's Christmas week. The Student Events Team has planned a whole week of holiday fun.

"I love Christmas time. I think that this is a great opportunity to have some fun and get ready for the holiday," said senior Tim Freydberg.

Christmas week starts on Thursday, Nov. 29 with "Come Bring in the Season" the Christmas tree lighting.

On Friday, Nov. 30, join your classmates on a trip to Manhattan for the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. Buses will leave at 2 p.m. for the 7 p.m. showing.

"I have yet to go to Radio City," said freshman Leslie Flynn. "I have always wanted to go and this would be the perfect opportunity. I can't wait."

On Sunday, Dec. 2 take a trip to New York City. Some of the events of the day include shopping, a visit to Rockefeller Center and Central Park.

"I am definitely going. I never get a chance to go to the city being at school all the time, said junior Jennifer Ferraiolo. "I have to do my Christmas shopping also so I am going to bring some of my roommates and go."

On Monday, Dec. 3 have the opportunity to participate in Christmas bingo. This will be the last bingo of the semester.

"I haven't gone to bingo that much this year but I went a lot last year and I won some cool stuff so I think ill try and go. It sounds like fun," said sophomore Alina Salcedo.

On Tuesday Dec. 4 there will be an in school showing of some holiday favorites, which include "The Santa Claus" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."

On Thursday, Dec. 6 there will be a Christmas party extravaganza at school.

"This sounds like a good time," said senior Paul Harnett. "It will be a good chance to get in the mood for Christmas time and also relax a little but from studying for finals."

On Friday, Dec. 7 there will even be a chance to win tickets to a New Years Eve party in New York City.

"This sounds interesting and a lot of fun. I have not made plans yet for New Years Eve so I am definitely going to try and win. It might be something fun for me and my girlfriend to enjoy," said junior Greg Mckeon.

On Saturday Dec. 8 there will be a campus wide scavenger hunt and a reindeer race for all to compete in.

"This is my last year here and I think that something that the whole campus can participate in and have some fun will be a good time. I am going to try and get a lot of my friends to go," said senior Chastity Fullone.

To conclude Sacred Heart's Christmas week on Sunday, Dec. 9 there will be a Broadway trip to the play "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

"I love this movie. I never knew it had a play though, so I want to try and go. It will be something different and fun to do at the end the semester. I love Christmastime," said junior Katelyn Fitzsimmons.
