Static of the Gods released their debut album, Cycles Follow Signs, nationally on April 17 through the record label, Record Head. Receiving five weeks in the Top 200 and a peak position at No. 103 on the CMJ charts, Static of the Gods have their listeners addicted to their distinctive music.
Through using popular Internet sites such as MySpace, Static of the Gods has been able to reach out to many more fans.
"I live in Boston, so I have seen them play, and they really sound great," said Kendall Angela, junior, Boston.
"Now that I know they are playing in the area, I am definitely planning on going to hear them again."
Static of the Gods is described as being as high energy and infectious as bands such as The Pixies, yet having this intense honest feel similar to bands such as Weezer, The Smiths, and That Dog.
"I love all different types of music especially Weezer, The Pixies, and The Smiths, so if it's anything like that, I am down to go and see them," said Katelyn Fitzsimmons, junior, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Static of the Gods, with their upbeat and refreshing mature pop rock music and lyrics seem to hold an exciting and very promising future.
"I am always up for a new up-and-coming band that I could rock out to, so I'll definitely make an appearance over there and check them out," said Russell Notti, junior, Farmingdale, N.Y.
