SHU Baseball shocks Notre Dame

Jay Monti threw a complete game two-hit shutout and Jeff Hanson had two RBI and Sacred Heart defeated Notre Dame 3-0 at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Fla.
Hanson drove in his first run in the first inning as he doubled home DH Bobby McKee. Hanson's second RBI came during a two run rally in the sixth on a sacrifice fly.
Jay Maiella also drove in a run on a groundout in the sixth.
Monti threw just 95 pitches in the nine inning performance. He struck out four and did not allow a walk and did not allow a runner past second base. He did hit a batter.
The Pioneers will complete their trip in Florida on Sunday vs. St. Joseph's University. Game time is 10 a.m.
