Energy levels were high at the Pack the Pitt poster contest that was held this past weekend.
"There were many clubs involved, some being, women's rugby, ballroom dance club, fashion club, Roncolli hall, and Italian club just to name a few," said Diana Bramante, North Bellmore, N.Y.
According to Bramante they did a poster contest last year, which is what gave them the idea to do it again this year at Pack the Pitt.
" We actually had about 13 more entries then last year which was great!" said Bramante.
"On the Ballroom Dance Poster I decorated it with hearts and the names of all the dances we learned. We included the Tango, Waltz, Swing, Samba, Rumba, Foxtrot, Salsa, etc with our signature logo picture," said said Erica Bouteiller, junior, Seymour, Ballroom Dance Club President.
"I also hoped that more people would recognize our club and want to join. That is why I added the names of the dances and they were separated with hearts to support SHU!" said Bouteiller.
"I started thinking about the poster and the design once they told us about the Pack the Pitt event, but I didn't put it all together until the morning of the contest. So I would say that it took me about a hour." said Bouteiller.
"Our SHU crew loves b-ball poster took about three hours to make," said Amy Dion, sophomore, Marion, Mass.
Carolyn Bauer, sophomore from Manasquan N.J. and Jacqueline Sweeney, sophomore from Rock N.J made a poster for their suitemate Khalia Cain.
"Khalia Cain is a point guard on the team who is a really good friend [of ours] who we want to be recognized" said Bauer.
"We wanted to incorporate the [crew and basketball] teams, we have a love for basketball and had so much fun making [the poster]." said Caroline Picknally, senior Longmeadow Mass.
"We made the queen of hearts because she's our symbol and we wanted to show support. JJ did all the work on the pieces to make her stand out and the rest of us did the banner," said Katherine Pompelil, freshman Sparta N.J.
"Amy Ricci, Jane Sanders, Denise Tiberio along with others of the student life staff helped judge the contest," said Bramante.
"Just first place gets a prize and that is a pizza party for their club," said Bramante
Roncolli hall won the poster contest.
"So congrats to Roncalli Hall," said Bramante.
