As the semester comes to a close, how do you handle the holiday spirit and stress?

As the fall semester comes to a close, holiday cheer echoes across campus as student's gear up for finals. The end of this semester goes hand-in-hand with the infamous "finals week," so is there a way to balance stress and the holiday spirit?
"Finals week is one of the most stressful times of the year," said Carlos Pena, junior, Washington Heights, N.Y. "I always try to block everything out and just put my focus completely on my work until the week is over and then it's finally time to go back home."
Students like Jessica Hartley, junior, Westerly, R.I. find the best way to balance the "snow season" and school is organization.
"I just try to organize my time the best I can and focus the most on what is due first," said Hartley. "I think that taking little breaks whenever I start feeling really stressed helps me out a lot."
Finals time is what seems like the last lap of the semester, the final stretch before a lengthy winter vacation. It is the most wonderful and the busiest time of the year
Although your brain might feel fried from massive amounts of studying and your bank account seems to be getting weary from your holiday super spending, there are ways to help you de-stress on campus and leave the holiday hustle and bustle behind.
The Mahogany Room might be crowded, but once you find a chair and throw on a pair of headphones, you will be in schoolwork "heaven." The Ryan Matura Library also provides a quiet escape.
Need someone different to talk to? Try the Counseling Center, where the professional and courteous staff can offer advice and guidance.
Craving a coffee to get you through the day, or night? Holy Grounds is your answer.
"I'm a little nervous about finals week just because I am a freshmen and have never taken college finals before," said Kellie Sakellerides, freshman, Plainview, N.Y.
"I plan on studying in the 'Mohag' for most of the week and getting stuff done there just so I am not distracted by being in my dorm room."
