Maryland finished on top with a score of 141.15; Boston University rounded out the field at 137.15.
SHU Elite president Megan Grabel, who finished 3rd all-around in the meet, believed it was Sacred Heart's best of the season.
"UMD and BU are very good clubs, and I am very proud that we came in second," Grabel said.
Sacred Heart graduate student Maria Crapanzano started the group in January of 2005.
"The club was started so that we could have fun and do gymnastics," Grabel said.
"This first season has been amazing," she said. "We all worked very hard to choreograph all of our routines, and practiced very hard at critiquing them.
"We ended the season on a great note and I am sure that the girls will have an even better season next year now that we know what the competition is like out there and what to expect."
Sarah Comeras, Jaimie Wienlien, Jessica Rosselli, Caitlyn Conley, Grabel, and Crapanzano competed Saturday for Sacred Heart.
Grabel finished fourth on vault, fourth on bars, second on beam, third on floor and third all-around.
Comeras placed second on bars, seventh on beam, sixth on floor and sixth all-around.
Rosselli took sixth on vault, fifth on beam, fourth on floor and eighth all-around.
Wienlien finished second on vault, seventh on bars, fourth on beam and seventh all-around.
Crapanzano finished third on vault.
The team is already planning for the future.
"I am going to have the girls work on skills that will add bonus points to their routines for next year so that they can have an even better season," Grabel said.
"Our last performance of the year will be in the SHU Force recital this upcoming week, which we are very excited about because SHU Force is an awesome club and wee love performing for them in their recitals."
