New issue of the University College Newsletter arrives

The Spring 2006 University College Newsletter has arrived in publication on campus. The newsletter describes the upcoming events throughout the semester and also covers the most recent stories to inform the students of what is going on around campus.

The first issue and third volume of the newsletter headlines the third Notre Dame Hesburgh Alumni Lecture, which took place on Wednesday, March 15. Co-sponsored by the University Commons with the University of Notre Dame Alumni Club in Fairfield, this prestigious event featured the most distinguished speakers of the Notre Dame faculty. The lecture was in recognition and appreciation for the Notre Dame president in dedication to a lifetime of teaching and learning.

Also mentioned in the newsletter was an article featured on graduation and the thoughts and feelings of the graduating seniors. The story features Michele Peloso, a senior who plans on graduating May 14. Peloso, a UC student and administrative assistant to the Dean to the College of Education and Health Professions is graduating with her two children Joseph and Nicole.

Stories in the newsletter also included an article featuring outstanding students who participate in the work study program, a couple who fell in love on the SHU campus who met in their American Literature class, the forming of the new CFE Advisory Council and the Alpha Sigma Lamda who inducted 40 new members to its National Honor Society of Continuing Education.

An up-to-date list of upcoming events such as Easter break, commencement weekend and summer intensive dates are also included in the newsletter.
