'B Holla' crowned 2006 Mr. SHU (Also in News)

It's been the topic of discussion for weeks. Teasing, tantalizing emails sent last week announcing the contestants only made the campus more anxious. The day finally arrived for the Mr. SHU competition.

Students willingly nominate fellow classmates for the highly anticipated and extremely amusing, Mr. SHU competition. Once nominated, the 10 contestants compete pageant style for the glorious title of Mr. SHU. The competitors are then narrowed down to the final five, who then participate in a question and answer section and then the scores are tallied.

This year's competition had a huge turn out, students started lining up around 9 p.m. and doors opened soon after. Several of the competitors had huge cheering sections usually consisting of friends and for some fraternity brothers.

The competition began with videos introducing the contestants and creating a stir in the crowd. The crowd waited anxiously for each contestant to burst through the theater doors and to see if their crazy stunt would top the previous.

Contestant Sean Hilderbrand's video gave the audience a peek into how he got ready for Mr. SHU, from the shower to the stage.

Pete Donahue's video showed off his basketball and rap skills and his twin brother, Brendan.

Joe LaVacca had his Baywatch run down better than David Hasselhoff. Even his wipeout didn't keep him down.

Josh Sedlock gave a peek into the average life of a SHU student and proved that he truly is just a squeaky clean gamer.

Bob Purtle's 80's style work out video showed him really breaking a sweat, in anticipation of the competition.

Adam Slater's video not only introduced the stud but gave the wise advice to 'Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy'.

Bryan "B-Holla" Smith showed us his star quality, but how does so much famousness fit into his oversized jacket.

Footballer, Randy Steyert, proved that muscle matters and his work out plan proved he wasn't kidding.
