Eva Longoria and Teri Hatcher, both nominated for best actress in a musical or comedy series for their work on "Desperate Housewives" arrive for the 63rd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Monday, Jan. 16, 2006.

Considered one of the most prestigious award shows in Hollywood, the Golden Globes only happens once a year. With viewers tuning in to watch which nominees will win, they also want to see what they will be wearing.

Floating down the red carpet this year were the latest fashions from all of today's top designers. Desperate Housewives' Teri Hatcher was dressed in a sexy, sequined gown by Versace, which beautifully boasted her flawless figure.

Presenter Natalie Portman's strapless black lace gown was paired perfectly with her new pixie haircut. Even though she usually poses in Zac Posen, Natalie wore Vintage Chanel for this event.

Also in Vintage Chanel, Reese Witherspoon gracefully wore a darling cocktail dress that featured a full skirt, which added a charming touch.

There were several ladies in red at this year's Golden Globes. Scarlet happened to be the color Miss Johansson walked the red carpet in. Her gown by Valentino was simple, yet elegant. Eva Longoria was all in red as well. There was nothing desperate about this housewife's Bob Mackie criss cross halter gown.

Known for her remarkable sense of fashion, Sarah Jessica Parker arrived in a black Rochas by Olivier Theyskens gown. Some may say this dress was a boring choice for the former trendsetter, but others will tell you it was nothing but timeless.

Speaking of timeless, Gwyneth Paltrow gracefully wore a shakesperian styled custom Balenciaga gown. It was a perfect choice for her pregnant profile.

But fashion wasn't the only thing that people tuned in for. Viewers wanted to know who the big winners were going to be. Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain cleaned up with four awards, including best picture for drama.

Walk the Line also did very well at this year's awards. The film based on the lives of Johnny and June Cash walked off with three awards including best picture, best actor in a leading role and best actress in a leading role for a musical or comedy.

All winning nominees gave grateful acceptance speeches, thanking those who support them, but the most memorable speech of the night was Steve Carell's. While accepting his award for best performance by an actor in a television series, Carell read from a speech he claimed to be prepared by his wife, Nancy. He hilariously thanked her, again and again. It was no wonder he won for his comical role as head honcho Michael Scott in NBC's "The Office."

With this year's Golden Globes all wrapped up, film fans only now have to patiently wait for this year's Oscars.
