SHU Welcomes New Vice President

Michael J. Kinney joined the SHU staff as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration.

A turning of events in the administrative staff has the Sacred Heart community welcoming a new vice president. Alumnus Michael J. Kinney joins the staff at SHU as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. This is a new position that is part of senior management reorganization that was recently approved by the Board of Trustees. This means that Mr. Kinney will work very closely with the University President and the other members of the Cabinet that make up the internal management of the University.
Kinney has served as a Trustee for his alma mater since 1995 and he has more than two decades of distinguished experience in the business community. He is very committed to Sacred Heart and its mission.
Kinney is a very successful man with incredible experience in general management and financial sectors in services and industry. He was the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategic Planning for Kraft Foods International. He has also served as President of Philip Morris Capital Corporation and has held various different positions at Bankers Trust, Continental Illinois and General Electric Capital Corporation.
He has received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in 1972 and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Bridgeport. He lives in Fairfield with his wife Cynthia and their daughter and twin sons.
The Sacred Heart Community is very excited to welcome him as a member of our high staff and look forward to having improvements made to the University. By having Mr. Kinney join our staff the school is receiving a very good opportunity to improve by his knowledge of business.
