Pop princess, Britney Spears, never ceases to amaze her fans. First it was her provocative clothing, then it was her 24-hour marriage to Jason Alexander, and now she's creating her own reality TV show. Basically, Spears will do whatever it takes to stay in the celebrity spotlight.
The new show will reveal Spears and husband, Kevin Federline's personal love story from the time they met until the time they got married. Federline believes the show will speak for itself, describing it as "a documentation of love." The series consists of six episodes, which Spears sold to UPN for a million dollars a piece.
Spears is very excited to be branching away from the music and movie industry and to start telling her life through "art" (i.e. reality television).
Each episode is shot with the couple's own camera, so that viewers will get to see everything from their point of view. UPN is currently working with the blonde beauty to shoot more footage and add Spears and Federline's commentary to guide viewers through their story.
"I am so excited about the series. From the day that Kevin and I met, there have been constant rumors and inaccurate speculation about our lives together. I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited about showing my fans what really happened," said Spears.
Along with Britney's personal life, the show will also display parts of the European leg of her Onyx Tour and the escapades she had with her dancers, bodyguards and managers.
The singer-turned-actress is hoping that the beginning of her reality show will promote the summer leg of her Onyx Tour in the United States. She also hopes that her show will receive the same outstanding ratings as Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's "Newlyweds." After all who wouldn't want to watch love birds, Britney and Kevin as they experience the ups and downs of their oh-so-refined lifestyle?
"It's going to be like a car wreck, you don't want to watch it yet you feel the need that you have to," said Kassandra Montalbano, a sophomore from Poughquag, NY.
UPN chief, Dawn Ostroff said, "I don't think there's anything sugarcoated about this. It's pretty raw and pretty real. I don't think [viewers] have ever been exposed to people being so honest and open about their lives. The story of Spears and Federline is so compelling that even if it were fiction it would be interesting."
Viewers will have a chance to decide for their own when the series broadcasts in the beginning of summer.
